STV's Blast from the Past Challenge - Paper Quilting

Thursday AGAIN! time is flying by - cant believe I only have 4 more challenges :(
This week's challenge is to do a "quilt" card - and you do not have to sew (this is not the sewing challenge)....you can if you want, but not required - I didnt pull out my sewing machine - this is all faux stitching (and i pieced my quilt together with my papers facing down and scotched taped them together - I know - I cheated!! grin) To see Gina's tutorial go to the sidebar over on STV and scroll down to Paper Quilting.
The "twist" is "you can only use a sentiment - NO IMAGE" - let your beautiful quilt shine!! so sentiments only are to be on your card.....concentrate on your quilt....another way to use those scraps!
used GKD's Sand and Red Rocket cardstock with GKD's ribbon and sentiment is from GKD's Showtime Set "Thanks a Million"...quilted with scraps
oh-kee doe-kee! any questions ??? ohhhhhh, you want to know the measurements of this quilt??? the squares are done with 1-1/4 " squares, punched 3 sets and arranged how I wanted - matted them onto 3.75 x 3.75 black mat....it's a small mat - plenty of room to add another row of squares.

You can create any quilt design you want, any shape, any colors - quilts are alllllll different!

Have fun! and Thanks a Million for every one of you (-:
hugs,
Linda
reminder

You have until next Wednesday, August 4th, at 8pm CST, to upload your sample. One winner will be drawn at random to win a Gina K stamp set valued at $24.95 or less!

In order to be included in the random drawing for a free GKD stamp set, please create a new card (or project) for each challenge that you participate in. Thursday Blast From the Past Challenge - 7/22 - Your FIRST GKD set plus tags

Happy Thursday everybody! And I start off with an apology – I have seen all your incredible entries…but haven’t been able to leave my comments before the challenge closed. I am so sorry – was traveling over a 3 day weekend and then there’s my “day” job that has had me working night and day….again, my sincerest apology.

But I did get two cards made this evening for this week’s challenge and

this week the challenge is to Use a Tag Die as a Decorative Element …and the “twist” is to use the FIRST Gina K Stamp set you purchased (or as close as possible to your first…just in case you have sooooooo many you don’t remember your first! LOL)
BUT if you dont have GKD stamps, just use one of your oldie but goodie stamps !

I did two cards to help get the mojo flowing on using the tags.

My “twist” card is from the set “Framed Friends” by Asela Hopkins! Loved this owl and the sentiments – went crazy over this one and the Gina K addiction began….big smile!

Used GKD’s Green Apple and Lemon Drop, Basic Grey’s Origins, GKD ribbon and Copics E57, 59, Y02, 26, C1 and 2. Mini pearls were colored with G67.

Had to do the “peacock” – cut my tags in half and hooked them over the edge of the border and then matted the bottom tag with the GKD Turquoise Sea  base cardstock, dp is stash (you know I love that!) and scallop mat is GKD's All Spruced Up. Colored with Copics G00, G21, B18 and gold pen.

Ok, now TAG ! you’re it!

Have fun with this challenge – looking forward to seeing how creative you get with tags and what YOUR FIRST set was… ahhhhhhh the Doc asks...so vot vas your virst taste of the GKD addiction?
smilin here (-:
hugs,
Linda

Thursday Blast From the Past Challenge - 7/15 - Gatefold Card with Scraps!

hey hey!! it's Thursday! and time for a new blast challenge..
(woooohoooo on all the entries for the Split Technique - there were 53! a record for my blast challenges - so glad you enjoyed it)

This week the challenge is to do a Gate Fold card ...and the "twist" - to use only scraps! (with exception of your card base)
I cant be the only one with enough scraps that it makes me cringe - yet, I keep cutting into new and making more and more scraps!...Stop the insanity heeeeheeeeeheeeee..sooooooo

I am on a personal "scrap" journey to use up my scraps!! and inviting you to join me this week
(course, I sure hope this journey is more successful than my "weight loss" journey LOL)

glitter shows better if you enlarge pic (-:

This was all done with scraps (except base), I recognize scraps from GKD's Asparagas, Rose images were done with GKD's "A Year of Flowers" and "Pressed Flowers" (both by Melanie), colored with Copics V01, 04, 17, highlighted roses and leaves with Lilac glitter pen, mini adhesive pearls and crepe flower is inspiration from Selma Stevenson aka Queen of Flowers!
inside of the card is GKD's Botanical image and sentiment stamped with Vivid's Rose and Memento Black.
ok ok ok! if you dont have scraps (you are my hero!!) or you dont want to use your scraps - then you are free to cut into that cardstock for your project...and have more scraps!!

hope you try this and have fun! that's why we do this!!!
have a blessed week
hugs everybody (-:

Brenda's STV Inspiration Challenge

Good morning,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today I have posted a quick card made for Brenda's Inspiration Challenge at STV. Loved this picture - had a hard time doing this card because I couldnt get my mind off wishing I had Theresa Momber's "Aloha" set - she has the flowers matching this picture in her set....
The inspiration:

using Ranger's Embossing powder, SU background image stamp, new nestie stamp that fits their Dahlia set, and sentiment is from GKD's "Inside and Out" set...here's my card

Loved her inspiration - love that bag!! what do you think of that flower?..did it with the new stamps from Heartfelt Creations that match the nestie Dahlia set...they have several sets that fit in the nestie flower stencils.
This is the first one I've done - just fell in love with their dies and stamps...you will be seeing more!

have a blessed day,

card is entered in challenge at Marks Finezt Paper

CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Friday Night Surprise!!!  Circle Blog Hop!
The Center Stage Spotlight Alumni Design Team for Gina K's Stamp TV has gotten together to share our creations. This hop was organized by our ever so talented Carolina Buchting.
She challenged the alumni to create using Kraft or Tan Leather, Green (Creme de Menthe, Grass Green, Fresh Asparagus, or Green Apple) and White.
I have just "cleaned" my craft room and now have more scraps than seems possible!! so all three of my cards are made with only scraps (except for their card base)... even the last card done with vellum.

peacock and sentiment from GKD's "Pretty as a Peacock" by Asela Hopkins
(card is entered in Copics Bird Challenge)

image is from GKD's "Seeds of Kindness" by Jessica Fick

images stamped underneath vellum are from GKD's "Hugs and Prayer" by Nina Brackett
and the butterfly and sentiment stamped on the vellum are from GKD's "Picture It".

If you would like any of these stamps, you can enter GKD's store from my sidebar (-:

Now head over to Lori's fabulous blog
Enjoy the hop!

Colored with Copics....
I love this line of images from Phindy called "Summer Cuties"

Thursday Blast From the Past Challenge - 7/8/10 - Two for One

Happy Day!!
Thursdays for me are STV's Blast from the Past Challenges . This week it's a little more challenging. It's to try the Split Negative Technique . Now this is a technique that unless you're one of the those "I can eyeball everything perfectly" lucky crafter - you should watch Gina's video...trust the process! and you will end up with two images ready for a card!
But you dont have to create two cards  - that's up to you! (although two cards are two entries!)
The "twist" is to only use two colors along with either black or white (or IN black and white).
....as if this technique wasnt challenging enough - but I know there are a lot of you who will nail it with no problem and then hoping this will be something new and exciting for someone who hasn't tried it!

for my cards - you can see my two reverse images are on two very different cards.

My image and sentiments are from GKD's Showtime STV set "Spring Mix". Cardstock is GKD's Lemon Drop and All Spruced Up with dp from Cosmo's Material Girl and the purple card uses GKD's All Spruced Up and various purple stash dp. Both used nesties (circle, circle small scallop, pendant and doodle parts)

You do not need to use Gina K Designs stamps to participate, although we'd love it if you did! In fact, if you use Gina K Stamps in your entry, then your name will be added to the prize drawing TWICE! Please be sure to create a new project for the challenge versus linking up something you've created before.

You have until next Wednesday, July 14th, at 8pm CST, to upload your sample. One winner will be drawn at random to win a Gina K stamp set valued at $24.95 or less!

have a blessed day! hope you try this one (-:

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge #15 - Open Theme

Happy Wednesday,
This week our Isabella's Sketchbook challenge to YOU is to do a card with an Isabella image with an Open Theme! You can do whatever you like, just be sure to use an Isabella image!

Sure hope you get a chance to enter - we are hoping to have enough entries on a regular basis to have two winners each week - one as a random draw and one chosen by the Design Team...
my card this week is done using the "direct to paper" technique. Stamped image onto design paper and colored it with Copics V04,09, YG63, 67, 99, G24

added mini mini pearl to flowers, ribbon and button from stash, butterfly from MS punch.

If you like this image, it's called Garden Beauties and available here  for $3.00.
so are you ready to join in the challenge? Pop over to Isabella's and grab the beautiful new badge for your sidebar and while there - pop over to her Digital Boutique and grab the freebie while it lasts....

Copic Tip for today: the colorless blender will not work the same on glossy as it will on other papers. If you make a mistake and go outside the line on glossy, you can't "fix" your mistake with the colorless blender

have a blessed day,
